Demonstration Site

Path4Med Demonstration Sites are crucial for tackling soil and water pollution in Mediterranean agricultural landscapes by testing innovative practices, monitoring technologies, and policies. These 'living laboratories' enable researchers, farmers, and stakeholders to evaluate sustainable solutions in action.

One key site is the Tejo Vulnerable Zone in Portugal, including Quinta da Cholda, Golegã. Led by the Instituto Superior de Agronomia (ISA), this site focuses on monitoring ground and surface water and developing effective agronomical practices to mitigate pollution in the Mediterranean Agro-Hydro-System.

D.G.5.: Develop a monitoring system regarding the ground and surface water status in different scenarios and identify, adapt, and evaluate effective agronomical practices so that the mitigation strategies can be efficiently designed and applied.
